Spring term...
After a wonderful but hectic Christmas, I've finally settled back into my routine of College on a Monday, working for Grange Park Tuesday, Wednesday and Sundays and studying at home on a Thursday and Saturday (children permitting of course!).
Where to begin, I've been studying hard and completed 2 essays, had a poorly back (ouch!) and retreated in New York with Jamie, for a week in January.(very nice...) It's already nearing the end of February and my eyes are looking forward to a chocolate filled Easter!
This term is going to be just as busy as the last, but this time I get to spend more time in Grange Park as I am doing a research project, called MM1.... Not a very glamorous title I know, but essentially it means I am looking at how, we, as a Church can reach out and connect to the Elderly within our area: Grange Park.
The lovely folk at Richmond have very kindly agreed to assist me and we are hosting a coffee morning there on March 6th entitled 'Show & Tell'. Rachel (our Lay Pastoral Minister), Katie (our new Youth Worker) and I are encouraging the residents there to bring along something that is special or significant to them and to share why this is so... I'm hoping this gives GPC a chance to engage and begin journeying with some of the Elderly that we currently share this wonderful village with.
After Easter, Graham Jeffs, me and a whole heap of others are going to begin the next Alpha Course. I'm very excited about that!! It's kick starting with an Alpha Supper on the 14th April in the Kairos centre...Grange Park Church, so please sign up if you'd like to join us for this exciting 10 week course looking at the basics of the Christian faith, and bring a friend or two
